Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Jo Crofts Art. These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between myself (Jo Crofts) and my clients when commissioning or purchasing artwork. Please read them carefully before placing an order. By commissioning or purchasing artwork from me, you agree to these terms.
1. Commissions

A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure your commission slot. The balance is due before the artwork is shipped or collected.

Prices are agreed upon before work begins. Quotes are valid for 30 days.

Commissions are created by hand and may take several weeks depending on size and detail. An estimated completion date will be given, but delays can occasionally occur.

If you need your artwork for a special occasion or a particular date, please let me know when booking.
2. Reference Photos

Clients are responsible for supplying clear, high-quality photos for pet portraits or other commissions.

You must own the copyright to any photo you provide, or have written permission from the photographer. By sending me photos, you confirm that you hold these rights.

Poor-quality photos may limit the detail I can achieve, and I cannot be held responsible for this.
3. Copyright & Usage Rights

The copyright for all artworks remains with me, Jo Crofts, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Clients are not permitted to reproduce, copy, or resell commissioned artwork without permission.

I reserve the right to use images of commissioned artworks for my portfolio, website, and social media (unless you request otherwise before work begins).

Prints may be made of non-commissioned works (original artworks created for my collections). Commissions will not be reproduced or sold as prints without your permission.
4. Payments

Payments are accepted via PayPal (or other agreed method).

Deposits of 50% are non-refundable once work has started.

Full payment must be received before the artwork is dispatched.
5. Delivery & Shipping

UK orders are shipped via a tracked and insured service.

International orders may be subject to customs fees or import duties, which are the responsibility of the buyer.

All artworks are packaged with care. If damage occurs during transit, please contact me with photos within 7 days of receipt.
6. Refunds & Cancellations

Deposits are non-refundable once work has started.

Due to the personal nature of commissioned artwork, refunds are not possible once the piece is complete.

For shop items (prints, original artworks), refunds are only accepted if the item arrives damaged and cannot be replaced. Items must be returned in original packaging.
7. Gift Vouchers

Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the purchase date.

Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Only one voucher may be used per commission.

If you wish to gift someone a commission or part of a commission, please contact me directly so we can discuss the best option together.

If the voucher value exceeds the commission cost, the remaining balance is not refundable.
8. Framing

Unless otherwise agreed, all artwork is supplied unframed.

I cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by third-party framers.
9. Backgrounds & Extras

Standard portraits include a plain or softly blended background.
-
More detailed backgrounds (landscapes, interiors, complex settings) may incur an additional charge, agreed in advance.
10. Privacy & Data Protection

Your personal details are used only to process orders, deliver artwork, and communicate with you.

11. General

Colours may vary slightly from on-screen images due to monitor settings.

I reserve the right to decline a commission request if I feel the subject matter is unsuitable or outside my artistic scope.
